We made some milk jug bird feeders this past week. The girls love watching birds and we're hoping this will bring a few more closer the house to observe. We hung them out on the back deck and we also put a shallow dish out front with bird feed in it. Hopefully with all the snow we've been getting we'll help feed a few little birds.

Dolly Hospital
Alexis has three cloth fairy dolls that she loves. She sleeps with them and plays with them quite a bit. Over the past few weeks she has come to me twice telling me that two of her dolls had a small tear somewhere on it. One was an arm and one was a leg. I told her I would fix it when I got a chance. Then a few days ago she came to me, quite sad, and told me that Wanda had a very small tear under arm. (Wanda is her oldest and most special fairy doll.) So I though it would be fun to make a dolly hospital and make a game out of it. The girls loved this idea and Emily agreed to be the nurse. While Alexis packed a bag for her dolls, I made a sign in sheet. Then we checked her dolls in and got them a bed. Emily served them lunch and brought them some toys to play with while I prepared my sewing basket for their "surgery". Then I brought a doll bed and took one doll at a time for the surgery. Emily remembered we needed to use special medicine to help them sleep so we used a little cup for them breathe into. I then sewed each little doll up as good as new and sent them back to their "room" to be with their mommy. After the woke from the surgery they all felt great and Emily served them more food and she and Alexis wheeled them to the playroom in a stroller to play for a while. After we were sure they were doing great we checked them out and they all went home with their mommy, who was so happy they were all fixed. :)

Let It Snow
We've had quite a bit of snow since December. Nothing huge. Mostly just a few inches here or there. But the ground has been covered quite a bit and we've had some fun playing around in it. This is the first year Ashley has been old enough to enjoy playing in the snow. Last year she could barely walk in her little snowsuit through the snow. But this year she is able to walk around a bit more and she is so excited to be outside. She just keeps saying, "Snow! Brrr. It's cold!" :) She also loves to eat the snow. We haven't had any good snowman making snow, yet, but we've still had fun making snow angels, walking around observing nature, and playing make believe games. Don has also taken the older girls sledding and they've had so much fun. We've also enjoyed quite a bit of hot cocoa after our expeditions. :)
