Thanksgiving

We traveled to grandparent's home for Thanksgiving this year.  First we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We visited and helped prepare the yummy food.  This is the girl's favorite part.  They love being in the kitchen when the ladies are cooking.  They say they love all the conversations they hear.  :)  We watched the parade and had a great dinner.  Afterwards we headed to Nana and Papaw's house and visited.  The girls had fun playing with their cousins and we got to eat some yummy food there, as well.  That evening we headed home.  Earlier in the day I had told Ashley today was Thanksgiving and we were going to have our Thanksgiving feast. She jumped up and down and yelled, "Hooray! That means we get to eat pretzels, popcorn, toast, and sprinkles!" Somebody has watched "A Charlie Brow
n Thanksgiving" a few too many times. :) (She apparently thinks the bowl of jelly beans on their table was sprinkles.) But that night when got back I fixed her and the other girls a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving feast - toast, pretzels, popcorn, and a little bit of sprinkles on a plate for a bedtime snack. :)

Grandpa's Birthday

Usually adult birthday's are pretty low key in our family.  There's usually a card, a few gifts, and some cake.  Well, this year Grandpa was turning 60 and the girls wanted to go all out.  Ashley especially lead the way in what she thought Grandpa needed for his party.  From our box of odd and end leftover party decorations she picked out various colored balloons, a Harry Potter tablecloth, (because Grandpa's a boy and that was the closest boy tablecloth she could find), Winnie the Pooh party hats and napkins, purple plates, star confetti, candles, and streamers.  Then all three girls decorated the downstairs by themselves and did an awesome job.  They helped me make a cake and wrap his gifts, too.  Grandpa was very surprised when he got to our house and I think everyone had a great time.  :)

Playing in the Leaves

Today was such a beautiful day.  We took advantage of it and spent practically the whole day outside.  We played soccer as a family, raked and jumped in leaves for fun, and the girls had a picnic lunch on the back deck.
