New Years Eve!

For New Years Eve I tried something new this year.  We blew up some balloons and inside each balloon inserted a little slip of paper.  On the paper was a fun activity of some sort.  Then we labeled each balloon with a specific time.  At the time we gave the children a needle and let them pop the balloon.  Then they got to read what we were doing.  They absolutely loved this and it helped keep everyone up until midnight.  We played hide and seek with flashlights, played a couple of family favorite board games, watched Rudolf's Shiny New Year, had a glow in the dark treasure hunt, played minute to win it, and played 2013 charades, where we all acted out memories from the past year.  It was so much fun and even Adam woke up in time to ring in the New Year.

Merry Christmas!

We were awakened bright and early by excited children - especially Emily - who couldn't wait to see what Santa wrote back, if he ate his cookies, and if the reindeer liked their carrots.  They found magical dust, candy sprinkled everywhere, and pretty packages under the tree.  The day was spent with toys scattered everywhere, playing, happy giggles, Christmas movies, and the coziness of our little family.  It was a perfect Christmas.
