Sweet Ashley

My sweet little girl in her cloud pajamas, telling me her dreams from last night.  She'll be 8 in 3 more days.  I love every new stage the kids go through, but I do wish time would slow down just a little so I can hold onto these little sleepy heads and their magical dreams just a bit longer.

Daffy Dinner Night

We had a Daffy Dinner Night tonight!  We gave everyone a slip of paper with something silly to do whenever someone did what was on their paper.  For example one slip may have said "Cluck like a chicken whenever Daddy eats a bite of fruit."  The idea is to figure out the mystery of what is happening by the end of dinner  We've done this before and it's always so much fun!

Royal Poetry Tea

Most Thursdays we have a literary Tea Time for lunch. We mostly read poetry, short stories, and chat. Sometimes we play pretend as well. This week Ashley made crowns for us to decorate for a Royalty themed literary tea. Even Katie got her own specialty made crown.

A Spontaneous Nap

The little guy has outgrown naps for the mot part.  But every so often he will spontaneously pass out.  He had spent a busy morning playing at the park, feeding the ducks and having a picnic lunch.  He was spending some quiet time watching Toy Story on his Kindle when he fell asleep.

6 Months Old

Six months old today.  She is such a sweet baby and growing way too fast.  You would never know by looking at her that she was 6 weeks premature.  She already has a couple of teeth in and the sweetest smile.  She loves her big siblings and when Daddy walks around singing her to sleep.  She's a great nurser just like all of other siblings were.  She loves her little squishy duck and loves snuggling Mommy.  We are so blessed she came to us and we love her so much.

Ashley's Circus

Ashley performed a circus this afternoon for us.  She had clowns, a juggler, a strong man (or more precisely a strong teddy bear), a tightrope walker and just about the cutest little elephant ever who dutifully obeyed her every command.

Thumb Sucker

Our little baby girl is a thumb sucker and I honestly think it's the most darling thing ever.  Alexis was my only other baby that sucked her fingers and she quit when she was 13 months and I was so sad to see it end.  Hopefully, she'll do it a bit longer but either way, I'll treasure the cuteness while I can.

Spiderman

Our little superhero loving guy asked his grandma to draw him a picture of Spiderman on his dry erase board.  We took a picture for him since we knew it wouldn't last long.

Ashley's Fairy Garden

Ashley made herself a littl fairy garden out of a cereal box and a few things she collected.  Now we'll just have to wait and see if any fairies decide to visit.

Carrots

The Edwards family left a big bag of organic carrots over here after book club today si cooked some up for lunch for Miss Katie.  She loved them!

Homeschool Book Club

It was absolutely perfect weather outside! Perfect for spending the whole day playing outside. Here are a few pictures of our homeschool book club meeting this morning. I'm so happy everyone could make it!

Pie in the Face

Uncle Doug and Aunt Cyndi got us a fun game for Christmas called "Pie in the Face."  Most of the children are willing to play but a couple really prefer to just observe.  Ashley was hesitant, but she gave it a shot and ended up having fun.  Adam actually cried when I got hit which I found very sweet but I hugged him and reassured him Mommy was having fun.  I found if you lift your face up higher, it mostly just hits your mouth and chin, which makes it better, ha ha.

The Zoo

"Mommy, could you take a picture of the zoo we built so we can always remember it?" - Ashley and Adam.
