Book Club Stuart Little

We're having a fun movie centered book club this summer.  We're reading books that have been made into movies and this month's selection was Stuart Little.  We all met here and had snacks and watched the movie.  Everyone had fun playing afterwards.  We are so thankful for such a great group of friends.

Relaxing At Home

It was just one of those lazy summer mornings I love so much when I decided to snap a few pictures.  It's summer and it seemed like the perfect time to introduce this little 7 month old cutie to the taste of pure water.  We fed her from a bottle and she decided she was definitely a fan.  I often fill bottles with ice water when my babies are in the teething stage to help relieve some of the discomfort and also get some extra fluids in them they loose through all the drool.  Emily and Alexis were both upstairs reading their new books they had gotten at the library yesterday.  Ashley decided to read one outloud to Katie and Adam.  And Adam listen for a little while while he stretched and relaxed on the floor but it wasn't long before he hopped up and asked if I would play with his farm set with him so I put the camera away and played.

Grammer Family Reunion

We had another fun, busy week at the Grammer family reunion in Flushing, Ohio.  We went swimming, played card games, ate tons of freeze pops, did the slip and slide, had FHE, and lots of shopping.  Seriously someone is always shopping.  It's always good to see everyone and make new memories.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day for the wonderful Daddy in our home at the Grammer family reunion house. I am so grateful our children have a father who loves and cares for them so much. He puts our family first in all his decisions and we are so blessed to be able to have him working a schedule that allows our family's needs to met and allows us to spend so much time with him. Between abundant father/child outings, corny jokes, pillow fights, stories read, songs sung to them, games played, prayers said on their behalf, and love given, our kids are certainly blessed.

Horses

We took a few of our cousins and Nana to see our friends' horses today.  They had recently had a baby horse, which was really neat to see.  The kids got to take turns sitting on the horses and petting them.  We are so thankful for gebnerous friends who let our kids enjoy their beautiful horses.

Room Switch

We have had all three girls in one room and Adam and Katie with us.  The other bedroom was used as a guest room for grandparents.  But we decided to change things up a bit and put Adam and Ashley in one room and Alexids and Emily in the other.  Adam will most likely still sleep with us but he can at least start the night with Ashley.  They are certainly excited about it and Ashley has already transformed her closet into her own little house for her dolls.

First Amazon Purchase

Don always teases me that I use amazon way too much.  I'll admit that I probably do.  Aside from groceries, I do pretty much all of the rest of my shopping on amazon.  Probably 90%   Gifts, books, homeschool supplies, diapers, wipes, dishwasher detergent, vitamins, toilet paper......  So when Alexis placed her first order on amazon I jokingly took a picture and sent it to him saying how proud I was to pass the torch along, ha ha.

Nursery

It was one of those days.  Normally my children do pretty well during sacrament.  But today the two little ones were squirmy and fussy and Daddy was out of town,  So Alexis and Emily were charged with watching Ashley and I took the 3-year-old and 6 month old to the Nursery to hang out the last 20 minutes.  I was able to turn the speaker on and still listen and they were happy.

Ashley's Baptism

Today was a very special day for our little girl.  Today she decided to be baptized.  We woke up his morning and hurried to get everyone fed and dressed.  Then we headed over to the church and the service started at 10:00.  Both of the grandmothers spoke and Alexis played the piano.  I got to welcome her into primary since I am the current Primary president of Moundbuilder's Ward.  The spirit was overwhelming to me.  She was so adorable in her beautiful little white dress.  It brought tears to my eyes to see my baby reaching this milestone.  She is such a sweet, creative, fun, happy little spirit. What a special day this was for our family.

Camping on the Floor

Ashley decided she wanted to camp out on her bedroom floor this evening.  She folded up blankets and placed her pillow on the floor next to her bed.  When I came upstairs to check on her she was fast asleep with her kindle still on.

Squishy

Alexis has given Katie the nickname, "Squishy."  She named her months ago because as she said, "She's just so cute and squishy!"  The name has caught on and now even friends and cousins will call her that.  At first, I wasn't a fan, but it has grown on me and now I think it's endearing.

Happy Birthday Ashley!

How can this sweet little girl be 8 years old, already?  Ashley is such an adorable little girl.  She has a a wonderful sense of humor and comedic timing and makes us laugh so much.  She can make the funniest facial expressions.  She is also so smart and extremely creative.  She is constantly crafting, building and inventing.  She is a hands on learner and I am always trying to remember to utilize more experiments, crafts and projcts in our learning because this is where she thrives.  She always tries so hard to make good choices and immediately bursts in tears from a broken heart when she doesn't.  She is very sensitive and tender hearted.  We love our Ashley so much and are so blessed to have her in our family.  We celebrated her birthday a week late because of friends and grandparents schedules.  She had a CTR party and invited her friends over.  It was a fun day and everyone had a lot of fun.
